The Gallbladder Meridian
The Gallbladder Meridian is a Yang Meridian and is paired with the Liver Meridian, which is a Yin. The Gallbladder is a wood element. The Gallbladder is said to control Judgement. The Gallbladder has the ability to help a person make decisions and apply correct judgement.
The Gallbladder is one of the longest meridians in the body. It goes from head to toe in the body. The Gallbladder is located just underneath the liver and stores the bile produced by the liver.
When using this meridian as a means of a Martial Arts attack or defence, we are without a doubt attacking one of the deadliest meridians in the body as it effects us both mentally and physically.
Attack from a front strangle
Low thigh kick to Gb 33 as a defensive position seting up the point
Alternatively using the same technique as an attack
After setting up the point on the leg Gb 33 you then enter using a knife hand strike downward onto Gb 21
Gall Bladder 33 on the leg attack straight in from the side just above the knee-cap (Patella)
Gall Bladder 21 on the highest point of the shoulder, this must be struck straight down
In Summary
Direction of Strike: Gb 33 Straight in and Gb 21 straight down
Antidote: Press down on Gv 20 on the top of the head this will bring the ki energy back into the head. Remember that by striking down on Gb 21 it drains the energy from the head, causing lightheadedness or KO.
